Miley Puts Her Custom Red Monkey Guitar Strap Front and Center in New Bass Persuades Video

The strap is getting its close-up.
Just days after Miley introduced the Bass Persuades era wearing a custom Red Monkey guitar strap, a new video gives an even closer look at one of the custom pieces built for her at the Red Monkey studio in Los Angeles.
Worn across Miley as she carries her guitar through the cinematic new visual, the black custom strap puts the oversized MILEY rivet lettering front and center.

The Custom Red Monkey Strap Behind the Look
The black guitar strap Miley wears in the new video is one of three custom Red Monkey guitar straps created for the project by Red Monkey founder and designer Torry Pendergrass.
Pendergrass worked directly with Miley's longtime stylist Bradley Kenneth as the pieces came together for the last-minute shoot.
Kenneth personally came to the Red Monkey studio in Los Angeles to see and approve the finished pieces, give them his blessing, and pick them up for the shoot.
Designed for the Lights
The black strap featured in the video was handcrafted from Italian leather and finished with Red Monkey's signature hand-set rivet work, spelling MILEY across the face of the strap.
The rivets were set to do more than create the lettering. Their placement was designed to catch and reflect light, allowing the MILEY detail to shine as the strap moves under stage, studio, and production lighting.
In the finished Bass Persuades visual, the black Italian leather integrates with Miley's look while the riveted lettering catches the light and becomes part of the image itself.
Built to Become Part of the Visual
For Red Monkey, a custom guitar strap isn't simply something that holds an instrument. On projects like this, the strap becomes part of the artist's visual language.
The leather, proportions, lettering, hardware, and construction all have to work together as a functional piece while also holding their own in front of a camera and under the lights.
That's where working directly with an artist's stylist matters. The collaboration between Pendergrass and Kenneth allowed the custom pieces to be developed around the visual direction of Miley's new era while still being built as real, functional guitar gear.
A New Miley Era, with Guitar Front and Center
Bass Persuades, Miley's tenth studio album, arrives September 18, 2026. The new era also brings Miley to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for two headline performances on October 16 and October 18.
Guitar has already become a prominent part of the visual language surrounding the new project, with Miley appearing with an electric guitar throughout the early Bass Persuades imagery and video.
